At Transformation Church, we make a distinction between “members” and “attendees.” If you’re attending Sunday mornings but are not plugged into a Life Group, then you're technically separated from a community available to you. This means that you're unable to grow in the intimate setting that Life Groups provide. When you're not a member, you are unable to receive the care, accountability and protection that comes from "doing life" with other believers.
This may not make much difference for regularly attending guests, but Christians who consume rather than commit to a local church miss out on the benefits of Life Groups and serving on Ministry teams. Members, on the other hand, participate by being the Church: sacrificing time, talents, and their finances by committing to the the community of other fellow members.
In short, the difference between a member and a non-member is that members are unified in their commitment to The Great Commission of Jesus Christ as mentioned in Matthew 28:19-20.
Below are the steps for Transformation Church's membership process:
Attend on Sundays. Join a life group.
Transformation Church members are required to be professing Christians who believe and have faith in Jesus as God and Savior. Members are required to be baptized by immersion.
Transformation Church offers a Membership Class to help you understand fully who we are as a church, what we believe, and how we operate. It’s also a great chance to meet others and get to know your leaders. We believe it’s important to know these things so that you can make an informed decision about membership.
Transformation Church members share in their commitment to the church by agreeing to our Membership Covenant and joyfully living in community, serving the church, and giving faithfully.
As the final step in membership, you’ll meet with the membership chairman for a final membership interview. This is an opportunity to confirm your commitment and ask any questions before being installed as a member.
